action

The bride discovers the disfigured face of her groom in the bedroom, who then tells his story:

Reluctantly, Kewal accepts his father's request to follow family tradition and study law in order to become a successful lawyer just like him. Actually, Kewal always wanted to play theater together with his childhood friend Nimmi. To his regret, she moves to a strange city with her family.

Nevertheless, Kewal does not give up his dream: When he fails the exam as a lawyer during his studies, he gives up everything and tries to become a theater actor. Then his father throws him out of the house because he does not tolerate his son's disobedience.

Ultimately, after a long search, Kewal ends up in the dilapidated theater of the painter Rajan. Rajan is enthusiastic about Kewal's acting talent and asks him to reopen the theater under his leadership. Kewal is overjoyed and starts looking for a leading actress. He meets a nameless woman from the Punjab , whom he then calls Nimmi and makes a star.

It doesn't take long for the two to fall in love. During a play, Kewal finds out that Rajan is also in love with Nimmi. Therefore he asks Nimmi to forget him and to live with Rajan, but she refuses this request. Consequently, he sets the theater on fire. The left half of his face also comes into contact with the fire, so that Kewal's face is completely disfigured. His plan shows success: Nimmi leaves Kewal because of the disfigured face.
