Career

Aaron Brocklehurst, 2017

Brocklehurst is considered an attacking and strong defender with a strong shot from the blue line.

He began his career with the Alberni Valley Bulldogs in the British Columbia Hockey League , a Canadian junior league. In the same league Brocklehurst also played for the Powell River Kings and Victoria Salsa . Via St. Cloud State University in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association , his path led him to the ECHL teams Florida Everblades , Victoria Salmon Kings , Gwinnett Gladiators , Reading Royals and the AHL team Lake Erie Monsters in Europe in the Finnish elite league SM- liiga . There Brocklehurst was initially under contract with Rauman Lukko . After his transfer to the Pelicans , he became Finnish runner-up in 2012. The attacking defender scored seven goals in a total of 44 games and prepared twelve more goals. In total, he came to 14 goals and 29 assists in 97 games during his two years in Finland.

In June 2012 it was announced that Brocklehurst was moving to the German Ice Hockey League to the Grizzly Adams Wolfsburg and was given a one-year contract there. In January 2013, the contract was prematurely extended by an option to 2014. Brocklehurst was considered one of the best ice skaters by the Wolfsburgers. For the 2014/15 season Brocklehurst moved within the DEL to ERC Ingolstadt . After one season, his expiring contract in Ingolstadt was not extended, so the Canadian joined the Hungarian club Alba Volán Székesfehérvár from the EBEL for the 2015/16 season. In February 2016 he returned to the DEL and signed a contract with the Hamburg Freezers until the end of the season .

For the 2016/17 season he moved to the Vienna Capitals in the EBEL .
