Abay ( Aragonese Abai ) is a Spanish town in the Pyrenees in the province of Huesca in the autonomous community of Aragon . Abay is a district of the municipality of Jaca located seven kilometers to the east . The village with 45 inhabitants in 2015 is located at an altitude of 775 meters .

history

In 1042 the place is mentioned as the property of the San Adrián de Sásave Monastery . In 1063 he came to the cathedral chapter of the cathedral of Jaca .

In 1857 Abay was incorporated into Ascara , in 1877 to Banaguás and finally in 1944 to Araguás del Solano and Caniás. Since 1950 it has belonged to Banaguás and was incorporated into Jaca in 1963.
