history

There are very few surviving documents about the place. The known historical documents show that the place was mentioned under the name Vinui in 1080 as a domain of the King of Aragon. Eneco Sanchez, an officer of Sancho Ramírez , is mentioned in 1083 as the administrator of Vinui. Other local names of Vinui date from the years 1414 to 1785.

Under the leadership of King Ferdinand II , who is also known for the Spanish Inquisition , the place was destroyed by a fire in 1495. The parish church of San Pedro with bell tower was rebuilt in 1587 based on the model of the Romanesque previous building from the 12th century. The baroque altarpiece, an iconography that Simon Peter is sitting, was painted around 1720 by José and Juan Tornes. Further large-format paintings with religious themes from the 17th century can be found in the church treasury of the parish church. In 1900 the place had 76 inhabitants. From 1943 Binué formed a community together with Navasa . The two villages have been part of the municipality of Jaca since 1966.
