Abdus Sattar

Abdus Sattar ( Bengali : আব্দুস সাত্তার , Ābdus Sāttār ; born March 1, 1906 in Daraka / Bolpur in the Birbhum district , today West Bengal ; † October 5, 1985 in Dhaka ) was a politician in Bangladesh . He ruled the South Asian state as President from May 30, 1981 to March 24, 1982.

Under the dictatorship of Ziaur Rahman he was vice president. He was killed on May 30, 1981 in a bloody coup by Abul Monjur . Sattar managed to get the upper hand again. On March 24th, he was overthrown by the military Hossain Mohammad Ershad , who used AFM Ahsanuddin Chowdhury as his puppet .
