The armed forces of Bangladesh (official name: "Bangladesh Armed Force"; Bengali : বাংলাদেশ সশস্ত্র বাহিনী , bāṃlādeś saśastra bāhinī ) are the military of Bangladesh .
Organization and leadership
The Commander-in-Chief is the President of Bangladesh . In addition to the commander-in-chief, each branch of the armed forces (see section Armed Forces ) has its own commander-in-chief.

Armed forces
The armed forces of Bangladesh are divided into three branches: the army , the air force and the navy .
army
The army currently comprises around 280,000 men, making it the largest branch of the Bangladeshi armed forces. The army is currently being supplied by China , France , Germany , Russia , South Korea , the United Kingdom , the USA and Malaysia .
Air Force
The air force in Bangladesh currently comprises 22,000 men (including 600 pilots) and 215 fighter planes , the transport planes use, among other things, some older C-130 Hercules .

The Bangladeshi Navy comprises 19,000 men, 4,000 of whom are civilian employees. Among other things also approx. 80 combat ships and 4 naval aviators (2 of them from a German manufacturer).

Peace missions
Around 10,498 soldiers are deployed as United Nations peacekeeping troops, which puts Bangladesh in first place. On several occasions, Bangladeshi leaders have been appointed as commanders of peace missions.
