Abel Costas Montaño

Abel Costas Montaño (born May 25, 1920 in Pocona , Bolivia , † February 11, 2015 in Cochabamba ) was a Bolivian Roman Catholic clergyman and bishop of Tarija .

Life

Abel Costas Montaño was ordained a priest on September 22, 1945 .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on November 11, 1968 auxiliary bishop in Cochabamba and titular bishop of Novi . The Pope personally donated him episcopal ordination on June 18 of the same year ; Co-consecrators were Sergio Pignedoli , Secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples , and Ernesto Civardi , Secretary of the Consistorial Congregation .

On November 8, 1973 he was by Paul VI. appointed Bishop of Tarija . On October 20, 1995, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
