history

The diocese of Tarija was on November 11, 1924 by Pope Pius XI. built with the Apostolic Constitution Praedecessoribus Nostris from cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of La Plata o Charcas . It is subordinate to the Archdiocese of Sucre as a suffragan .
