About You Awards
The About You Awards ( spelling ABOUT YOU Awards ) are an annual award ceremony since 2017 to social media personalities from German-speaking countries, at which, according to the organizers, the "most authentic and relevant influencers " are honored. The About You Awards are organized by the online fashion mail order company About You GmbH of the same name .
The prizes are awarded in several categories; Currently (2019) these are the categories Style, Comedy, Music, Newcomer, Health and the Idol of the Year and Empowerment awards. The categories are adjusted annually in response to trends and topics in the social media scene.
The award ceremony is broadcast live on About You's social media channels and has also been broadcast by the ProSieben TV channel since 2018 . According to the organizer, the 2018 award ceremony reached more than eight million viewers.

Award ceremony 2019
Unlike in previous years, in 2019 everyone was able to submit proposals for nominations in five categories. The top 3 nominees were determined from the top 10 in each category in a one-week online vote. The winners of the two honorary awards “Empowerment” and “Idol of the Year” were selected from all nominees by the expert jury of the About You Awards and the newly founded About You Awards Academy in 2019 ; The jury and the Academy selected the winners of the five standard categories from the respective top 3 nominees.
The jury members were Cro (Rapper) (Music), Jérôme Boateng (Health), Enissa Amani (Comedy), Bonnie Strange (Newcomer), Lena Gercke and Paul Ripke (Style) as well as Doutzen Kroes (Empowerment), Stefanie Giesinger and Riccardo Simonetti (Idol of the Year). The About You Awards Academy is composed of winners, nominees and laudators from previous years.
