Abrakadabra is the seventh studio album by the German hip-hop group 257ers . The third band member Keule , who was missing on the two previous albums, is also represented on the album. It was released on November 1, 2019 via the Düsseldorf label Selfmade Records as a standard and deluxe edition, including the bonus album Hokus Pokus Spätzle Edissn , which was originally released in 2009.

The music producer Tilia produced a large part of the album with 13 of 18 tracks. The music for two songs comes from Voddi, while Nico KIZ, Johnny Illstrument, Joznez , Dasmo, Mania Music, Fridz, Haschim Elobied were each involved in one song.

Guest Posts

In addition to the 257ers, other artists appear on three songs on the album. The song ADAC is a collaboration with the rap group K.IZ , while the rapper Finch Asocial can be heard on Adiletten . The rapper Sido has a guest appearance at Track Autopilot .

The rappers Favorite (on cream cake RMX and Kein Fick auf Schule ) and Jason (on What do you tell ) are also featured on the bonus album .

Cover design

The album cover shows a black and white photo of Jewlz's head, the top of which is missing. In his head, the three 257ers members Keule, Shneezin and Mike swim as green cartoon characters in a green liquid, making faces. In the upper part of the picture are the green lettering 257ers and Abracadabra . The background is kept white.

Abrakadabra entered the German album charts at number 19 on November 8, 2019 and left the top 100 the following week. The album missed the charts in Austria and Switzerland.

On July 25, 2019, the title song Abrakadabra was released, the first single of the album, before the second release Sexdisko followed on August 29 . On October 4, 2019, 257 ist der Boss 2019 was released as the third single. In addition to music videos for the singles, videos for the songs As It Always Was and Autopilot were shot. None of the pieces made it into the charts.

Dominik Lippe from laut.de rated Abracadabra with three out of a possible five points. The album is based on “the raw sound of their debut” Hokus Pokus and tries “to tie in with a bygone era.” It is characterized primarily by “the absurdly vulgar lyrics” and “the disintegration of language.” Only the song Autopilot with Sido “sounds well produced” and would have been more suitable for “an album that is more suitable for radio”.
