Achilles Uffenbach
Achilles Uffenbach (from 1677 Achilles von Uffenbach ) (born January 17, 1611 in Frankfurt am Main ; † December 4, 1677 there ) was a lawyer and junior mayor of the imperial city of Frankfurt.
Life
origin
Uffenbach came from the marriage of the Frankfurt doctor and city physicist Dr. med. Peter Uffenbach (1566–1635) and Maria Salome née Birtsch. The father was the son of the Frankfurt stone decker Peter Uffenbach († around 1598) from Wetzlar , who immigrated to Frankfurt around 1550 and in 1552 the goldsmith's daughter Lucrezia nee. Fleck married. Achilles Uffenbach's mother was the daughter of the Strasbourg councilor Daniel Birtsch.
The father Peter Uffenbach was accepted into the Frankfurt patrician society Zum Frauenstein in 1614 . In 1631 Peter Uffenbach was ennobled by Emperor Ferdinand II , but only son Achilles received the additional title of nobility “von” in 1677.
family
Achilles Uffenbach married Anna Ottilia Weickhard in 1637, the daughter of the doctor Arnold Weickard. Their son, Zacharias Conrad von Uffenbach , also became the younger mayor, while the middle son, Johann Balthasar von Uffenbach, also became Frankfurt councilor. The son Johann Christoph von Uffenbach became Reichshofrat .
Training and work
He studied from April 11, 1629 at the University of Strasbourg and from May 1, 1632 at the University of Marburg law. In 1635 he obtained his licentiate in Marburg . From 1661 he was a senator on the council in Frankfurt and in 1668 became the younger mayor. He was also a lay judge and scholarch in the imperial city.
