Achim Bergmann
Achim Bergmann (born May 16, 1943 - March 1, 2018 ) was a German music publisher . In 1969 he joined the then book publisher Trikont and from 1980 onwards he ran the independent Trikont Musikverlag .
Life
Bergmann came to Munich as a student in the mid-1960s . Politicized by the student movement, he joined Trikont-Buchverlag in 1969 . This 1967 originally in Cologne in the context of the SDS publishing house founded reached with the Bolivian Diary of Che Guevara and the so-called Mao Bible at that time high sales figures.
In the course of the 1970s, the publishing program was expanded to include music. The first LP of the Munich publishing house was released in 1972 We liberate ourselves from Arbeitersache , a Munich Sponti group to which Bergmann himself belonged - like all members of the Trikont publishing collective. Initially, mainly agitational music was played and recordings by Ton Steine Scherben and the American label Folkways Records were distributed. Then there were productions by bands like Schroeder Roadshow or Warmer Südwind . In 1980 the music label separated as Trikont - Our Voice with Bergmann as the sole shareholder of Trikont-Verlag under managing director Herbert Röttgen , who switched to esoteric literature under the name Dianus-Trikont Verlag and went bankrupt in 1986.
In 2017 Bergmann married his partner Eva Mair-Holmes, who came to Trikont in 1990. With the Trikont music label, both put a focus on Bavarian music and published artists such as Georg Ringsgwandl and Hans Söllner on the one hand, and compilations with older recordings such as the Voices of Bavaria series on the other . Another focus was on world music or music history samplers, for example with Finnish tango or Greek rebetiko , recordings of the song La Paloma , Ethiopian jazz or mariachi . Trikont later published artists such as LaBrassBanda , Kinderzimmer Productions , Bernadette La Hengst and Attwenger .
The assault on Bergmann during the Frankfurt Book Fair at the booth of the weekly newspaper Junge Freiheit in 2017 caused a greater stir, also in the media . Bergmann had interrupted a lecture by the publicist Karlheinz Weißmann about "Kulturbruch 68" and was hit in the face by a spectator with his fist.
