Achim Brötel

Achim Brötel (born September 9, 1963 in Heilbronn ) is a German lawyer and politician ( CDU ) and district administrator of the Neckar-Odenwald district .

Studies and legal career

After graduating from high school in 1982 at Burghardt-Gymnasium in Buchen (Odenwald) , he completed 15-month basic military service with what was then Panzergrenadierbataillon 362 in Walldürn . He completed his law studies (1983–1988) in Würzburg and Heidelberg in 1988 with the first state examination at the University of Heidelberg . Stations of his subsequent preparatory service as a law clerk were the District Court Book , the prosecutor Mosbach , the District Office Neckar-Odenwald , the Administrative Court of Baden-Württemberg in Mannheim and a Buchener law firm. In 1990 he received his doctorate from the law faculty of Heidelberg University. In 1991 he was awarded the Ruprecht Karls Prize of the University of Heidelberg Foundation, which honors outstanding scientific work. He passed the second state examination in 1992 in Stuttgart .

As a civil judge at the Tauberbischofsheim District Court , he entered the higher judicial service of the state of Baden-Württemberg. In February 1993 he switched to the Mosbach public prosecutor's office, where he worked as a youth prosecutor. In November 1993 he was seconded to the Stuttgart Ministry of Justice . As a consultant and deputy head of unit, he was responsible for human resources, organization and budget until 1997. In addition to this, he was appointed examiner in the first state examination at the University of Heidelberg in 1994. He worked as an auditor until the end of 2003.

In April 1997, Dr. Brötel was appointed judge for life and seconded to the Federal Court of Justice in Karlsruhe as personal assistant to the then President Karlmann Geiß .

Political career and public office

In 1989 he was appointed to the council voted Book of the city. Due to the professional change in connection with the secondment to the Ministry of Justice of Baden-Württemberg in Stuttgart, he left early in November 1993 at his own request.

In 1998 he was elected mayor of the city of Buchen with 66.8 percent of the vote in the first ballot . In addition, he moved into the district assembly in the 1999 district assembly. He was re-elected as deputy chairman of the district council, deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group and chairman of the committee for health facilities in the 2004 district council election. The regional association Rhein-Neckar-Odenwald elected him deputy chairman in 2000. The district council elected Dr. Brötel to the district administrator of the Neckar-Odenwald district. He took up this position on September 25, 2005. On July 22, 2013, he was re-elected for a further eight-year term with 45 votes in favor, one against and three abstentions.

Personal

He is married and has two children. Brötel is an active member of the Buchen Stadtkapelle and is involved in numerous clubs, associations and institutions. Among other things, he is 2nd chairman of the Badische Landesbühne sponsoring association (since 1999), 1st chairman and initiator of the Friends 'Association of the Buchen Stadtkapelle (since 2008), member of the main committee of the municipal employers' association of Baden-Württemberg and of the district council of the AOK Neckar-Odenwald district .
