Eight north-south and eight east-west railway lines ( Chinese  八 纵 八 横 , Pinyin Ba zong ba heng , English eight verticals and eight horizontals  - "eight verticals and eight horizontals") is a plan to build eight north-south and eight east-west railway lines (八 横 八 纵 铁路 通道) in the People's Republic of China , which was presented in the 10th five-year plan valid for the years 2001 to 2005.
