Achterbahn is the fourteenth album by the Cologne a cappella group Wise Guys . It was released on September 26, 2014 via Polydor ( Universal Music ).

Style and content

The title roller coaster was chosen because the songs deal with different, very different situations in life.

For the first time the album is available in a normal and a deluxe version. In addition to the 16 songs of the simple variant, this also offers live recordings, songwriter demos (completely composed, but not completely arranged songs with instruments; the a cappella results are on the normal CD), a cappella demos (early A- Cappella recordings of songs, some of which are published on the normal CD) as well as the studio track "Brasil", which was previously made available as a download.

History of origin

Achterbahn is the band's first album, which comes exclusively from the group members, the producer was band newcomer Andrea Figallo . In addition to Daniel Dickopf, Nils Olfert and Eddi Hüneke also contributed songs to the album. While the recording took place in the sawmill studio in Hürth , the final mixing and mastering was done in California by Bill Hare.

reception

  • Radio-VHR praises the production and the mastering. Here it is emphasized that the tightly woven sound (sounds) so fat that when listening you sometimes completely forget that every single tone comes from human voices.
