traffic

New bridge in Ada over the Tisza

Ada and Mol had a rail connection from 1889, the line was closed in the 1960s between Bečej and Senta .

On December 24, 2010, a new bridge over the Tisza was opened to traffic on the southern edge of Ada . The bridge is the former Danube bridge of the Bavarian city of Vilshofen an der Donau , which was given to Ada in 2000 as part of the new construction of the Marienbrücke there, where it finally arrived in 2006. The bridge will later ensure the connection between the E75 motorway and the city of Kikinda by building another road . The bridge was also built to make it more attractive for businesses, as the only other bridges to cross the Tisza are in the towns of Senta and Bečej, 20 km north and south of Ada.

economy

For a long time there has been a large steel company in Ada called Potisje , the Zora canning factory and an industrial sewing shop . For a few years now, more and more small and medium-sized companies have settled in the industrial park between the cities of Ada and Mol. Companies in the agricultural sector in particular have increasingly built greenhouses in recent years.

tourism

There are plans to build a spa in Orlovač. The Ottomans already had their baths and hospitals there during the occupation of the Banat by the Ottoman Empire . After the Second World War, there were repeated efforts by companies outside Serbia to develop the place for tourism, including Neckermann Reisen . However, this failed due to the approval of the authorities.

The city of Ada has a leisure center called Adica directly on the Tisza that it would like to expand with additional buildings. In this context, a hotel is also to be built for visitors.

In addition, there is an annual motorcycle meeting in the city, to which many foreign visitors come.

education

In addition to two general schools, there is also the music school "Béla Bartók" and a vocational school.
