Adam Valentin von Redern

Adam Valentin von Redern (born May 25, 1589 ; † February 9, 1653 ) was a Brandenburg colonel , regiment chief and city commander.

Life

Adam Valentin came from the Altmark noble family Redern and was the heir to Wolterslage , where he had to provide a feudal horse .

On May 1, 1620, he received his appointment as Rittmeister with the Altmark cavalry . In 1624 he was promoted to Colonel and was ex - and chief captain or governor to Memel . From 1634 to 1653 Redern was also the owner of the infantry regiment (No. 14) , which he had taken over from Colonel Henning von Goetze . Since 1635 his regiment was reduced to five companies and transferred as a garrison to Memel and Pillau . Redern's successor as head of the regiment was Colonel Otto Wilhelm von Podewils .

Fritz von Buch , heir to Poland , had sold his Görlsdorf estate , which he had acquired from the Sparrs in 1605 , to Lieutenant Colonel von Redern in 1632. After the war, however , the estate and the village were ruined and became the property of Jobst Otto von Hake , before the von Redern bought it back in 1720. Redern zu Kerkow was also wealthy in the Uckermark . In addition to this inherited and acquired Uuckmark property, Redern was also enfeoffed with Götzhöfen , Tauerlaken, Bachmanns and Bauschkorallen in the office of Memel .

In the funeral sermon of his wife Margarita von Jagow adH Aulosen (1597–1644) Redern was also referred to as the electoral Brandenburg council.

The marriage produced four daughters:

  • Anna Elisabeth (1633–1689), ∞ Heinrich Bistram († 1716), heir to Sehnjen and Odern, pledgee to Waddax , head captain of Selburg
  • Juliana Charlotte Sophia († 1693), ∞ Christopher II von Fircks (1634–1695), captain of Tuckum , land marshal of Courland
  • Ursula Sabina (1636–1687), ∞ Johann von den Brincken († 1672), heir to Scheden and Wallaten
  • Margaretha († 1687), ∞ Johann von den Brincken († 1672), heir to Scheden and Wallaten
