Adams is a small township in the Philippine province of Ilocos Norte .
Most of Adams is forested and very mountainous. Adams is not like other municipalities in the Philippines in several barangays divided, but includes some small mountain villages, especially Bucarot, Siwet, Kabacan, Budabid, Sinidangan, Gubgubeng, Lipay and Maligligay.
geography
Adams is located about 114 km from Laoag City in the northeast of the province of Ilocos Norte on the edge of the Philippine Cordillera .
The municipality borders on Pagudpud to the west, Cagayan Province to the north, Apayao Province to the east and Dumalneg Municipality to the west.
The climate in the Adams area is characterized by an extremely long rainy season and a short dry season, in contrast to the rest of the province and, due to its high location, relatively low temperatures.
The majority of the area of 138.25 km² is used as pastureland or is partly densely forested, only 3.6% of the area is arable land or cultivated.
A river flows in the south of the main town.
history
Before 1918 the area was a reservation for ethnic minorities.
Later, a parish district was formed under the administration of Bangui Township , and Adams was incorporated into the new Pagudpud Township in the 1950s . On May 16, 1983, Adams became a separate township.
economy
Adams is not electrified, which is why kerosene lamps are often used for lighting.
