history

The first white settlers came in 1848 when a railway station was built here. Originally the settlement was called Sherman , which was changed in 1890 to the name Adell, which is still valid today . In the same year a post office was set up. In 1918 the settlement was separated from the Town of Sherman and incorporated as the Village of Adell .
