The Green Adenostyles ( Adenostyles alpina ) is a plant from the genus Adenostyles ( Adenostyles ) within the family of Compositae (Asteraceae).

Vegetative characteristics
The Green Alpendost is similar to the Gray Alpendost , but only reaches heights of 30 to 80 centimeters.
The leaves are hairy on the underside only on the nerves and have no felt that can be wiped off. The leaf margins are serrated regularly. All stem leaves are petiolate. The petiole is not widened and not extensive at the base.
Generative characteristics
The flowering period is between June and September. The cups are a doldenrispigen total inflorescence combined. The cups usually contain only three tubular flowers and three bracts. The corolla is 6.5 to 8 millimeters long, its corolla lobes take up more than half of the entire border.
The achenes are 3 to 5 millimeters long. The pappus is 4 to 5 millimeters long.
The number of chromosomes is 2n = 38.
Occurrence
The distribution area of Adenostyles alpina extends from Spain and France , Italy , Sicily , Germany and Switzerland to Slovenia and Croatia .
The Green Alpendost occurs on nitrogen-rich, alkaline-rich soils in mountain forests, in tall herbaceous areas and on the banks of streams. It is a Petasition-Paradoxi-Verband character type , but also occurs in high-montane Fagion or Piceion plant communities .
It can be found in the Alpine foothills and in the Alps at altitudes of 1200 to 2000 meters. In the Allgäu Alps, it rises in the Tyrolean part near the Kaufbeurer house near Hinterhornbach up to an altitude of 2010 meters.
Systematics
A synonym for Adenostyles alpina (L.) Bluff & Fingerh. is Adenostyles glabra (Mill.) DC.
One can distinguish the following subspecies:
- Adenostyles alpina (L.) Bluff & Fingerh. subsp. alpina : It occurs in France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Austria, Slovenia and Croatia.
- Adenostyles alpina subsp. australis ( Ten. ) Greuter : This endemic occurs only in Italy .
- Adenostyles alpina subsp. briquetii (Gamisans) Tutin (Syn .: Adenostyles briquetii Gamisans , Adenostyles glabra subsp. briquetii (Gamisans) Wagenitz & I.Müll. ): This endemic occurs only in Corsica .
- Adenostyles alpina subsp. macrocephala (Huter & al.) M.Dillenberger & Kadereit (Syn .: Adenostyles alliariae subsp. macrocephala ( Huter & al. ) Wagenitz & I.Müll. ): This endemic occurs only in Calabria .
- Adenostyles alpina subsp. nebrodensis ( Wagenitz & I.Müll. ) Greuter : This endemic occurs only in Sicily .
