Adolf von Harnier (politician)

Julius Ludwig Adolf von Harnier (born July 16, 1834 in Darmstadt , † October 23, 1904 in Echzell ) was the landowner and member of the First Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

origin

Adolf von Harnier was the son of the Hessian legation councilor and painter Georg Wilhelm von Harnier (1800–1838) and his wife Caroline nee Freiin von Pretlack (1809–1838). The family was raised to the grand-ducal Hessian nobility on February 10, 1810. His brother Wilhelm was an African explorer and died while hunting buffalo in South Sudan.

Life

Von Harnier attended the high school in Karlsruhe until 1852 and then the agricultural academy in Hungarian-Altenburg (today part of the West Hungarian University ). In 1856 he took over the management of his Echzell property.

From 1893 to 1899 he was an elected member of the manorial nobility in the first Hessian chamber. In 1893 he was elected, on March 7, 1893 he took his deputy oath , in 1897 he was re-elected and resigned in 1899 for health reasons.

Von Harnier, who was a Protestant denomination, married Luise Freiin von Rotenhan, the daughter of Hermann von Rotenhan , on December 30, 1856 in Rentweinsdorf . The couple had several children:

In his second marriage, he married the sister of his first wife, Maria (1843–1869), on January 29, 1867 in Rentweinsdorf. The couple had a daughter:

  • Anna Marie (born February 3, 1869; † August 3, 1939) Frei 1894 Baron Karl August Eduard Johann von Racknitz (born September 26, 1861; † April 20, 1918), retired lieutenant colonel. D.

On August 31, 1871, he finally married Anna Riedesel zu Eisenbach (1848-1924), the daughter of Georg Riedesel zu Eisenbach, in third marriage . The couple had several children:
