Ludwig Volprecht Christian Riedesel zu Eisenbach , also Christian Volpert , (born May 26, 1806 at Eisenbach Castle ; † June 25, 1858 ibid) from the house of the Barons Riedesel was a registrar and hereditary marshal of the Hessian counties .

origin

His parents were the imperial baron Ludwig Riedesel zu Eisenbach (* 1778; † February 24, 1824) and his wife Wilhelmine, born von Ompteda (born January 6, 1779), chief stewardess of the Grand Duchess Wilhelmine of Hesse .

Life

Riedesel studied law and completed his studies with a doctorate to become a Dr. jur. from. As a senior member of the family, after the death of Friedrich Riedesel zu Eisenbach in 1853, he inherited the office and title of the Hessian Hereditary Marshal and the rank of lord of rank for the Riedesel rule . As a registrar he was automatically a member of the first chamber of the estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse . He was a member of the Chamber from 1844 until the change in electoral law after the March Revolution in 1849. From 1851 to 1858 he was a member of the Hessian Estates Assembly , of which he was president from 1855 to 1857. He represented constitutionally conservative positions.

He is buried in the Eisenbach Castle cemetery. The tomb, a Gothic arc of red sandstone crowned by Fialen and Wimperg, is a listed building .

family

He married on January 6, 1869 Wilhelmine (Helmine) Caroline Friederike (* August 24, 1811 - February 3, 1894), a daughter of Lieutenant General Karl Friedrich Stephan von Otting, Fünfstetten and Schönfeld . The couple had the following children:
