Adrian Friedrich Gans zu Putlitz

Adrian Friedrich Gans Noble Herr zu Putlitz (born April 17, 1735 in Kressen; † February 6, 1805 in Insterburg ) was a Prussian major general , commander of the infantry regiment "von Krockow" and heir to Dummadel and Stölitz.

Life

origin

His parents were Johann Peter Gans zu Putlitz (1697–1739) and his wife Regina Hedwig, née von Vicken-Oley.

Military career

On June 1, 1747, Putlitz came to the court of King Friedrich II as a page . On March 30, 1755 he was employed as a private corporal in the 1st Battalion of the Guard . During the Seven Years' War Putlitz fought in the battles of Kolin , Liegnitz and Torgau . At that time he became an ensign on February 18, 1757 .

After the war, Putlitz was promoted to Prime Lieutenant on November 25, 1763 , and from 1772 was the leader of the Leibcompanie. On April 1, 1773 was transferred to the infantry regiment "von Krockow". There he became a captain and company commander as well as a major on September 25, 1773 . But on February 24, 1778 he was then ordered to advertise the East Prussian infantry. He is probably successful, because on June 2, 1783 he became lieutenant colonel and on May 25, 1786 colonel , and on August 1, 1786 he was also commander of infantry regiment No. 51. On August 22, 1790 he was then major general. But on April 13, 1791 he received his resignation and a pension of 1000 thalers. He died on February 6, 1805 in Insterburg.

Putlitz married Freiin Amalie Albertine von Schroetter. The couple had the following children:

After the major general's death, the widow received a royal pension of 300 thalers.
