Aeonium sedifolium is a species of the genus Aeonium in the thick-leaf family(Crassulaceae).

Vegetative characteristics
Aeonium sedifolium grows as a perennial , densely branched small shrub and reaches heights of up to 40 centimeters. The smooth, sparsely fuzzy-haired, sticky shoots are not patterned like a net and have a diameter of 1 to 5 millimeters. Their rather flat rosettes reach a diameter of 1.4 to 3 centimeters. Inner leaves are more or less upright and form a spherical bud in the dry season . The egg-shaped to obovate, green to yellowish, glossy, slightly downy-haired, sticky leaves are 0.7 to 1.5 centimeters long, 0.4 to 1 centimeter wide and 0.3 to 0.5 centimeters thick. The underside of the leaf is reddish striped, near the tip variegated with many brownish lines.
Generative characteristics
The loose inflorescence has a length of 2 to 7 centimeters and a width of 2 to 5 centimeters. The peduncle is 2 to 8 inches long. The nine- to eleven-fold flowers are on a 5 to 16 millimeter long, slightly downy-haired flower stalk . Your sepals are weakly downy hairy. The yellow, obovate or lanceolate, pointed or blunt petals are 5 to 7 millimeters long and 2 to 2.5 millimeters wide. The stamens are sparsely weakly downy-haired.
Chromosome number
The number of chromosomes is 2n = 36.
Systematics and distribution
Aeonium sedifolium is common on Tenerife and in the north of La Palma at heights of up to 800 meters.
The first description as Aichryson sedifolium by Carl August Bolle was published in 1859. Charles-Joseph Marie Pitard and Louis Proust put the species in the genus Aeonium in 1909 .
Further nomenclature synonyms are Greenovia sedifolium (Webb ex Bolle) Webb ex Christ (1888) and Sempervivum sedifolium (Webb ex Bolle) Webb ex Christ (1888).
