Although he was never ordained a bishop , he was Apostolic Administrator of Reggio Calabria, Italy (1520), of Alessano, Italy (1521–1526), of Bobbio, Italy (1522–1524), of Toulon, France (1524–1535) , from Le Puy-en-Velay, France (1525), from Avranches, France (1526), from Asti, Italy (1528–1529), from Bayeux, France (1531–1548), again from Asti (1536–1548) , from Brugnato, Italy (1539–1548) and finally from Périgueux, France (1541–1548). Since 1520 he was also archpriest of the Vatican basilica . This made him one of the greatest " beneficiaries " of his time.
Act
In 1527 he led a military action by the papal army against the Colonna . After the Sacco di Roma in 1527, Agostino Trivulzio was arrested by imperial troops because of his close ties with France, imprisoned at Castel Nuovo in Naples and imprisoned for 18 months. On November 24, 1536 he became a legate in France. He was present at the coronation of Eleanor of Castile , the sister of Emperor Charles V and second wife of King Francis I of France . In 1537 he moved briefly to titeldiakonie Sant'Eustachio , but took possession of Sant'Adriano again only about three weeks later .

Since the Pope had not given him permission to write a will , his inheritance fell to the Papal States .
