Agustín Adolfo Herrera

Agustín Adolfo Herrera (born August 28, 1912 in San Miguel de Tucumán , Argentina , † July 18, 2000 ) was an Argentine clergyman and bishop of San Francisco .

Life

Agustín Adolfo Herrera received on 27 March 1937, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On March 13, 1957, Pope Pius XII appointed him . to the first bishop of Nueve de Julio . The Bishop of Catamarca , Carlos Francisco Hanlon CP , ordained him episcopal on May 11th of the same year ; Co-consecrators were the Archbishop of Tucumán , Juan Carlos Aramburu , and the auxiliary bishop in Paraná , Adolfo Tortolo . The inauguration took place on July 2, 1957.

On July 24, 1961, Pope John XXIII appointed him . the titular bishop of Tanais and ordered him to Coadjutor Bishop of Jujuy . Pope Paul VI appointed him Bishop of San Francisco on September 8, 1965. The inauguration took place on October 9 of the same year. On December 2, 1988, Pope John Paul II accepted Agustín Adolfo Herrera’s resignation because of his age.

Agustín Adolfo Herrera attended the first and fourth sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
