Culture and sights

Ahlften is the Halifax Park and the Ahlftener Flatt , a pond in a wind blowout basin from the last ice age , which is often used for ice skating in winter.

About 1100 meters southeast of Ahlften is the so-called Grundlose Kuhle . A circular earth funnel about 40 m in diameter, with an almost circular small pond about 5 m deep and 20 m in diameter. The water level is 1 ½ m above the nearby Böhme. Although it has neither an inlet nor an outlet, it hardly changes. The sinkhole was caused by the leaching of salt in the earth and represents a geological karst form of national importance. There are many legends about the Grundlose Kuhle. One says that there was a lock at this point in ancient times.

In the list of architectural monuments in Soltau , four architectural monuments are listed for half of the population .
