Ainda Há Pastores? (German: "Are there still shepherds?") is a Portuguese documentary from 2006.

In Casais de Folgosinho , a remote valley on the edge of the municipality of Folgosinho , which is already considered remote , in the middle of the Serra da Estrela Mountains, sheep breeding was once the most important activity alongside agriculture. The film shows the last shepherds still working and one of the few young shepherds. Every day he goes to the mountains with a boom box and his sheep, where he prefers to listen to the folk music of Quim Barreiro .
Ainda Há Pastores? shows the imposing nature of the mountains and the wide valleys, but also the simple and arduous living conditions that older residents only reluctantly or not at all give up, now that progress has also penetrated them.

In addition to the archaic, sometimes visually stunning shots of nature and the original way of life of the elderly residents portrayed in the film, the figure of the shepherd Hermínio in particular drew the audience's attention. As a result, the plant was reported nationwide.
The film won a number of prizes at film festivals in 2007 , particularly at the EFFN environmental film festivals , including those in Turin , Kathmandu and Mexico City , and at the CineEco in Seia and FICA in Goiás, Brazil . He was also honored at the film festival of Portuguese film in Coimbra , the Caminhos do Cinema Português .
In 2007 the film was released on DVD by Costa do Castelo Films , with multilingual subtitles , extensive bonus material, and an accompanying website (now discontinued). Since then, it has also been broadcast several times on the SIC television station, and has received good reviews here too. Director Jorge Pelicano works full time as a cameraman and journalist for SIC. This film then made him known nationwide as a director.
