Ajoya is a town in the La Paz department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

Ajoya is the central place of the Cantón Ajoya in the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Calamarca in the province of Aroma and is located at an altitude of 3999  m . Ajoya is located on a north-south flat section of the Bolivian Altiplano that is up to twenty kilometers wide , the foothills of the Serranía de Sicasica rise directly on the edge of the village, which rise here to almost 5000 meters.

Ajoya is located on the Bolivian plateau between the Andes mountain ranges of the Cordillera Occidental in the west and the Cordillera Central in the east.
