Accordion acute

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Accordion Akut is the title of a world music festival in which the accordion and related instruments and their versatility are in the foreground. The festival has taken place every autumn in Halle (Saale) since 2010 .

Structure of the festival

The festival builds on the tradition of central German accordion manufacturers, which emerged in large numbers shortly after the invention of the accordion in the middle of the 19th century in Gera , Magdeburg and Klingenthal (still in existence today). In addition to international artists , Akkordeon Akut also integrates the regional scene of Central German accordionists. The motivation for founding the festival in 2010 was the comparison with the musical traditions of other European countries such as the Finnish tango , the Wienerlied , the Italian tarantella or the French musette and many more, in which the accordion (and related instruments) is firmly rooted in everyday culture and that there already dedicated to festivals earlier. Akkordeon Akut is the only festival of its kind in Central Germany to present the accordion in its musical range, far from popular music .

In terms of program, the festival culminates in an international double concert in the Halle Opera House , which is mostly dedicated to folk styles from all over the world. In order to also introduce accordion musicians from the region, part of the festival is dedicated to young talent and scene formations from Central Germany , who appear in the accordion rally series within the 5-day festival. In addition to the youth ensemble Landes-Akkordeon-Ensemble Sachsen-Anhalt, a series of silent films with live accordion accompaniment as well as smaller club concerts by German and international formations, which show the variety and range of uses of the instrument beyond popular music, are other integral parts of Akkordeon Akut .
