Al'Dino

Aldin Kurić , better known under the name Al'Dino (born March 21, 1970 in Jajce , Bosnia and Herzegovina ), is a Bosnian musician. His works cannot be assigned to a particular musical genre. Al'Dino's style is more of a mixture of traditional Bosnian folk music, modern turbo folk , jazz and pop . Through numerous duets, as well as appearances in various European countries, he has become increasingly known, but is still mainly in the countries of the former Yugoslavia , especially Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatiaand belongs to Serbia .

Life

Kurić began playing the guitar and the piano at the age of five in elementary music school . At the age of sixteen he joined a jazz fusion band and learned to play the bass guitar. He lived in Jajce until his 18th birthday and after completing his military service he went to Sarajevo to study medicine. But soon he was mainly occupied with music, because his interest there was jazz music. He played bass in many clubs in the city. At the same time he cultivated the Bosnian tradition and folklore Sevdah and the legacy of the late Sevdalinka player Zaim Imamović . Al'Dino started out as a musician in numerous restaurants in Sarajevo to earn his living. After the war broke out in spring 1992 , he fled his homeland to Stuttgart and played bass guitar with other well-known musicians such as Dino Merlin , Hari Mata Hari , Halid Bešlić , Safet Isović and Haris Džinović . At the same time he studied jazz in Freiburg and played in clubs with international musicians. As a “one man band” he adopted the stage name Al'Dino and sang and played in seven languages ​​in German and Italian restaurants. In 1998 Kurić returned to Bosnia and recorded the first songs for his first solo album Odlaziš (“Du go”). The title song Odlaziš became his first big hit in Bosnia.

On March 10, 2001, Al'Dino took part in the BiH Eurosong 2001, the Bosnian preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest , with the song Sve ti oprastam and took second place. The following year he applied again on February 23, 2002 to the BiH Eurosong 2002 with the song Sanjam bolji svijet and took 3rd place.

In 2003 Al'Dino released his second album entitled Na drugoj adresi ("To another address"). Several hits come from this album, such as Sanjam bolji svijet , Sedam godina , Sve će ovo jednom proći . In 2005 he released his third album Kopriva . The song Kopriva developed into his biggest hit at the time, with which he gained popularity in the Western Balkans . The album Kopriva was ultimately named album of the year in Bosnia and Herzegovina and received awards such as the Davorin Grand Prix at the radio festival in Zenica , the hit of the year 2007 in Serbia and other music awards.

He won the Feras Radio Festival in Serbia with the song Ko ljudi . With Stariji he received the Most Beautiful Ballad award . He sang the song Po tebi me poznaju in a duet with the Serbian singer Goca Tržan . In 2008 his fourth album came out. The song Nikad mi se ne spava is a duet with Mostar Sevdah Reunion. In March 2010 Al'Dinos single Srce se predalo was released and in July 2011 he released his fifth album entitled Zavjet ljubavi (" Oath of Love").
