Alan Heim (born May 21, 1936 in Bronx , New York City ) is an American film editor and Oscar winner .

Life

After Alan Heim was initially responsible for sound editing for films such as Der Pfandleiher and Frühling für Hitler , he was able to edit his first independent film with Die Möwe , a film by Sidney Lumet , in 1968 . It was also Lumet's Network , with the home first for the Oscar nominated before for Fosses That Jazz with the Best Editing award.

Alan Heim is a member of the American Cinema Editors , an honor society for film editors, and was its elected president from 2006 to 2008 and 2012 to 2016. In 2020 he received the ACE Career Achievement Award .
