Alan Howarth

Alan Howarth (born August 6, 1948 in South River , New Jersey ) is an American sound engineer and film music composer .

Life

Alan Howarth created the sound effects of great Hollywood films such as the Star Trek series, The Hunt for Red October , Bram Stoker's Dracula , Total Recall , Poltergeist , Running Man , Runaway Train , Flatliners , The Mask and many more. He was best known for collaborating on the soundtracks for most of John Carpenter's films of the 1980s.

He also made a name for himself as a composer of electronic film music, including for the soundtracks of the films Halloween IV to VI, The Return of the Incomprehensible and The Osterman Weekend . He also worked on the acoustic background music for trailers from well-known productions such as Jurassic Park , Tales from the Crypt , Fortress and a few others.
