Albert Fish is a Portuguese punk rock - band from Lisbon .

history

The band was founded in Lisbon in 1995. After a few demo tapes and concerts in the 1990s, they released their first demo CD in 2001 before releasing their first official album in 2002. The CD entitled Strongly Recommended contained 9 pieces, including the clearly anti-fascist Sindelar , which is about the Austrian footballer Matthias Sindelar (1903-1939), who had opposed the National Socialists.

In 2003, the group accompanied the British The Varukers on their tour through Portugal and Galicia , and then toured Europe themselves, including Spain, Italy, Germany, Hungary and the Netherlands. They also appeared at international punk festivals, for example at the Faísca Festival in Galicia in 2003 , with Banda Bassotti , Inadaptats and others. a., 2005 at the II. In 2010 a split CD was released with the Oi! / Streetpunk band Blind Alley Boys from Coimbra . Of the six pieces featured on it, three were cover songs , one by the Portuguese mod band Opinião Pública ( Puto da Rua ), the Lisbon punk band Crise Total ( Autista ), and the Kortatu piece Mierda de Ciudad , a version of The Business piece Drinking & Driving .

Albert Fish played in Portugal with a number of international punk / street punk bands, including Deadline and Klasse Kriminale (2006), and The Casualties (2010).

The band was named after the American murderer Albert Fish (1870-1936) and sings mostly in English and only rarely in Portuguese .
