Albert Grote

Albert Grote (born April 16, 1898 in Vienenburg , † May 3, 1983 in Salzgitter ) was a German physician and private scholar . He wrote several philosophical writings on phenomenology .

Live and act

So far nothing is known about Albert Grote's family origins and his youth. He first studied medicine in Göttingen, where he received his doctorate in 1926. med. PhD. He then completed a second degree in philosophy in Göttingen , Greifswald and Freiburg im Breisgau (albeit without a formal qualification) . His academic teachers in Göttingen included the philosophers Georg Misch , Leonard Nelson and Hans Lipps and the mathematician David Hilbert , in Greifswald the theologian and philosopher Günther Jacoby and in Freiburg the founder of phenomenology Edmund Husserl and the philosopher Joseph Geyser .

Professionally, Grote worked as a doctor in Vienenburg. He worked as an internist and surgeon as well as head of a hospital.

Grote wrote several philosophical writings on phenomenology . His research interests focused on the relationship between appearance , knowledge and reality , including with regard to language and mathematics ( arithmetic ). An obituary acknowledged that Grote's writings "identify him as an independent thinker".
