Albert Helgerud (born September 16, 1876 in Svelvik as Albert Thorvaldsen , † May 25, 1954 ibid) was a Norwegian sports shooter .

successes

Albert Helgerud took part in three Olympic Games and the Olympic Intermediate Games in Athens in 1906 . In the latter, he won the silver medal in the three-position fight with the free rifle in the team competition together with Ole Holm , John Møller , Gudbrand Skatteboe and Julius Braathe . In 1908 he was in London in this discipline both in the individual competition before Harry Simon and Ole Sæther and in the team competition before Sweden and France Olympic champion . In addition to Helgerud, the winning team also included Ole Sæther, Gudbrand Skatteboe, Olaf Sæter , Julius Braathe and Einar Liberg . Four years later he secured the silver medal in a three-position battle with the team in Stockholm , this time with the army rifle. Together with Gudbrand Skatteboe, Ole Sæther, Østen Østensen , Olaf Sæter and Einar Liberg, he finished second behind Sweden and ahead of Denmark. At the 1920 Olympic Games in Antwerp , he competed in nine disciplines and won a medal in three of them. In the three-position fight with the free rifle, he won the silver medal with Otto Olsen , Gudbrand Skatteboe, Olaf Sletten and Østen Østensen in the team competition, as well as with the army rifle over 300 and 600 m in the prone position at the side of Otto Olsen, Jacob Onsrud , Olaf Sletten and Østen Østensen. In the team competition with the small-bore rifle, he took third place in the standing position with Sigvart Johansen , Anton Olsen , Olaf Sletten and Østen Østensen, with which he won the bronze medal.
