Albert Schuchardt

Albert Schuchardt (born October 5, 1855 in Speyer , † July 3, 1928 in Mindelheim ) was a Bavarian lieutenant general .

Life

Schuchardt studied at the Munich Polytechnic . In 1876 he became a member of the Corps Vitruvia Munich. After graduating, he embarked on an officer career in the Bavarian Army .

From April 1, 1904 to July 20, 1906 he was in command of the 2nd Jäger Battalion . Then Schuchardt was promoted to colonel commander of the 8th Infantry Regiment "Grand Duke Friedrich II of Baden" in Metz . After he had been relieved of this post on February 19, 1909, he was given command of the 5th Infantry Brigade in Zweibrücken as major general . On November 23, 1911, Schuchardt was put up for disposition with the statutory pension . In recognition of his achievements, Prince Regent Luitpold awarded him the Star of the Military Merit Order II. Class.

At the beginning of the First World War , Schuchardt was reactivated. From 1915 until the end of the war he was in command of the Deputy 6th Infantry Brigade in Landau in the Palatinate . In this position he was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd class on December 30, 1915 . In the following year Schuchardt was given the character of Lieutenant General.
