Albrecht Friedrich, Prince of Prussia, Margrave of Brandenburg-Schwedt (born January 24, 1672 in Berlin ; † June 21, 1731 in Friedrichsfelde Palace ) was Lieutenant General of Brandenburg and Prussia and master of the Order of St. John .

Life

Albrecht Friedrich was a son of the Brandenburg Elector Friedrich Wilhelm and his second wife Dorothea . His brother Philipp Wilhelm was governor of Magdeburg from 1692 to 1711. In 1689, at the beginning of the Palatinate War of Succession against France, Albrecht Friedrich volunteered with the Prussian troops. On May 10, 1692 he became chief of a regiment on horseback and on March 14, 1693 major general . In 1694 he took part in the campaign in Italy and became lieutenant general on March 9, 1695. In 1696 the margrave became master master of the Order of St. John and on January 17, 1701 knight of the High Order of the Black Eagle .

Since February 14, 1702 head of an infantry regiment, he fought as commander of the Prussian corps in the Netherlands against France as part of the War of the Spanish Succession .
