Alcabideche is a Portuguese parish ( Freguesia ) in the Cascais district . The Circuito do Estoril car racing track is located in the municipality. The most famous beach of Alcabideche is Praia do Guincho .

history

After the Celtiberians and Romans , the Arabs in particular left their mark here. After the Reconquista , another settlement was built here. The oldest components of the oldest local church date from the 15th century and were used again after the earthquake in Lisbon in 1755 when the church was rebuilt in 1759 . Alcabideche became an independent municipality in 1841 .

Sons and daughters of the church

The most famous son of the city is the poet Ibn Mucana , who left the first written evidence of windmills in the 11th century, the time of the Arab occupation of Alcabideche.
