Aldershot (UK Parliamentary Constituency)
Aldershot is a constituency in Hampshire , of the House of Commons since 2017 by the representatives of the Conservative Party , Leo Docherty is represented.
history
The constituency was created in 1918. Since its inception, the seat has always been held by the Conservative Party. Three of the so far only five MPs have been appointed to the House of Lords . Julian Critchley represented the constituency from 1970 to 1997. Gerald Howarth held the seat between 1997 and 2017 .
Limits
The constituency mainly comprises the area around the city of Aldershot in northeast Hampshire. Farnborough is also within the constituency . The changes made to the boundaries of the various constituencies by the Boundary Commission for England also affected Aldershot. After these changes, the constituency now includes the entire Borough of Rushmoor and parts of the Hart District , the towns of Blackwater and Hawley and the towns of Frogmore and Darby Green .
