Aleksandar Magovac (born February 9, 1991 in Jesenice ) is a Slovenian ice hockey player who has been under contract with Grenoble Métropole Hockey 38 in Ligue Magnus since 2018 .

Career

Aleksandar Magovac began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of the HD mladi Jesenice , for which he made his debut for the club's professional team in the Slovenian ice hockey league in the 2007/08 season . From 2009 he played for the club in the Slohokej League . In addition, from 2012 he also played for local rivals HK Jesenice in the Austrian ice hockey league . With HK Jesenice he became Slovenian champion in 2011 .

In 2012 he left his hometown and joined EK Zell am See from the Inter-National League . After only one year he moved to Czechoslovakia and played there for Orli Znojmo again in the Austrian ice hockey league. In 2014 he returned to the Inter-National League and played for the Kitzbühel EC for two years . He then returned to Jesenice, where he played with the newly founded HDD Jesenice in both the Alps Hockey League and the Slovenian league. After becoming champions in 2017 and 2018 and cup winners in 2018, he turned his back on his hometown again in 2018 and moved to France to Grenoble Métropole Hockey 38 in the Ligue Magnus .

International

For Slovenia, Magovac participated in the junior division of the U18 World Championships in Division I in 2008 and Division II in 2009 , when he was voted the best defender of the tournament, as well as in the U20 World Championships in Division I in 2009 , 2010 and 2011 .

In the senior division, he was only seven years later at the World Cup of Division I in 2018 for the first time in his country and scored the 1-0 in the 4-1 success of the Slovenes against Hungary .
