Aleksandar Nađfeji ( Serbian - Cyrillic Александар Нађфеји , alternative spelling: Aleksandar Nadjfeji ; born October 27, 1976 in Belgrade , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a German basketball player and coach with Serbian roots.

Career

Nađfeji moved in 2001 from KK Radnički Belgrade to the basketball league. He began his career in Germany at Telekom Baskets Bonn , where he developed into a top performer and one of the best players in the league. In 2005 he moved to the Cologne 99ers . With Cologne he succeeded in defeating Alba Berlin in the final , becoming German champion for the first time in his career . The following year he was with the 99ers German cup winners , but since the club had to file for bankruptcy in January 2008, he moved to Alba Berlin.

In 2008 he celebrated the German championship again in Berlin. In addition, he won the cup for the second time with Alba in 2009. After the 2008/2009 season, his contract in Berlin was not extended and Nađfeji switched to the Walter Tigers Tübingen . After one season he left the Tübingen again and signed a three-year contract with the Pro A league club FC Bayern Munich . With the ambitious FC Bayern under the direction of the then national coach Dirk Bauermann , he was promoted to the basketball league at the end of his first season in Munich . After being an important part of Bayern's rotation in the 2011/12 season, he only played eight games under coach Svetislav Pesic in 2012/13.

So Nađfeji decided to return to Tübingen for the 2013/14 season and signed a three-year contract. At the side of his friend Igor Perović , he was initially a player and assistant coach, from 2016 only an assistant coach, also under Perovic's successors Tyron McCoy and Mathias Fischer .

In October 2014, he received German citizenship and at the same time gave up his Serbian citizenship.

2001 Nađfeji was a member of the Yugoslav national team under Svetislav Pešić . In Germany he was elected to the BBL's All Star Team four times .

At the beginning of May 2018, he took over the position of head coach at the Tübingen team, who had previously been  relegated from the Bundesliga to the 2nd Bundesliga ProA . In January 2019, he was released in Tübingen, at the time the team was third from bottom of the table. Nadjfeji moved to second division Wiha Panthers Schwenningen in the summer of 2020 , from whom he was hired as assistant coach.
