Alex Aleardi (born July 30, 1992 in Fort Wayne , Indiana ) is an American ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Dragons de Rouen in Ligue Magnus since November 2017 .

Career

Aleardi started his career with the Kitchener Rangers in the Ontario Hockey League and played there until 2010 before he was transferred to the Belleville Bulls during the season . Aleardi played the season to the end and moved the following summer again within the league to the Plymouth Whalers , where he developed into a reliable scorer. During the 2012/13 season he was transferred again, this time to the Windsor Spitfires . In the 28 games he played for the Spitfires this season, he scored twelve goals and a total of 42 points, making him the fifth-best scorer on his team.

Shortly before the end of the season, Aleardi received an offer from the American Hockey League from the Springfield Falcons , in which he went on the ice in three games. After 41 games in the 2013/14 season , Aleardi moved to the ECHL for the Evansville IceMen , where he recorded 14 goals and nine assists in 23 games. For the 2014/15 season he moved back to the AHL to the Charlotte Checkers , where he scored twelve goals and eleven assists in 48 games.

After a short stopover in the ECHL at the Florida Everblades , Aleardi moved to Rögle BK in the Svenska Hockeyligan for the first time in his career in Europe . After 15 games and only one assist, he moved a league deeper into the second-rate HockeyAllsvenskan to Asplöven HC , where he showed far better scoring skills. In the summer of 2016, Aleardi switched to Mora IK within the league and was the sixth-best scorer in the team with 16 goals and 20 assists in 51 games. He was also promoted to the SHL with the team. Nevertheless, in the summer of 2017 he moved to Austria for EC Red Bull Salzburg , where he was under contract until October 2017.
