Alex Majewski

Alex Majewski (born August 12, 1959 in Hilden ) is a German visual artist . He lives and works in Düsseldorf .

Life

After training as a photographer, Majewski worked in the advertising and fashion sector. In 1993 he started working as a freelancer for photo and video projects at the Art Academy for Media in Cologne . Between 1988 and 2003, Majewski took photos in Cologne and Vienna, the artist: Irene Andessner , the joint photos were shown in numerous exhibitions. The Viennese artist group "I AM" (play on words from the first letters of the two artists -I.Andessner + A.Majewski- and at the same time a reference to the artistic concept) emerged from this intensive collaboration. After the separation (2003), Majewski's own works were exhibited in Düsseldorf, Berlin, Cologne, Madrid and the Netherlands. The series “Oralart” and “Sushi” were created for this purpose. Majewski later created the series "The Madonnas".

With his wife, the cook Susanne Vössing , Majewski published a cookbook of sensuality .
