Alexander Anton von Ketteler zu Harkotten

Alexander Anton von Ketteler zu Harkotten (born September 9, 1689 in Harkotten Castle ; † April 1748 ibid) was the prince-bishop's chamberlain and representative of the knighthood in the state parliament of the monastery of Münster.

Life

Origin and family

Alexander Anton grew up as the son of Goswin Kaspar von Ketteler zu Harkotten and his wife Anna Dorothea von Korff zu Harkotten (1659–1700) together with his sister Juliane Helene Christine (∞ Franz Hermann von Boeselager) and his brothers Friedrich Christian (1691–1748, Privy Councilor and Cathedral Cantor) and Christoph Heinrich (1692–1734, Imperial Colonel Sergeant) in the ancient Westphalian noble family von Ketteler . After the marriage talk on August 13, 1718, he married the heiress Maria Sophia von der Tinnen zu Möllenbeck and Kaldenhof (1701–1723). After her death on November 19, 1729 in Füchtorf, he married Lucia Katharina von Westphalen zu Fürstenberg , widow of Wilhelm Friedrich von Korff zu Harkotten (1688-1727). The daughter Anna Francelina (Kanonisse in Freckenhorst ) and the sons Goswin Lubbert (1719–1775, ∞ Catharina Theresa Bernhardina von Korff, great-grandparents of the politician Wilderich von Ketteler and the Mainz Bishop Wilhelm Emmanuel von Ketteler ) and Clemens August (Canon in Münster, Osnabrück and Worms).  

Act

On November 16, 1718 Alexander Anton was sworn to the knighthood of Münster and belonged to the state parliament  , a body made up of the three estates. His task was to regulate the tax system and from 1447 also the  feudal system  in the  bishopric of Münster . On January 26, 1720 he became the prince-bishop's chamberlain and was officially a member of the court. He was also chief court marshal in Hessen-Kassel .
