Alexander Horn (born August 14, 1973 in Bad Tölz ) is a German case analyst .

Life

In 1991 Horn began his training as a police commissioner . In 1996 he switched to the criminal police in the department for sexual and violent crimes at the Munich police headquarters . When the pilot project offender profiling was launched at the Munich homicide commission on the initiative of Udo Nagel , Horn was part of the founding team. Since 1998 he has headed the Office for Operative Case Analysis (OFA), Commissioner 16 at the Munich Police Headquarters. In addition to the case analysis and perpetrator profiling, this is also responsible for the operation of the ViCLAS and HEADS databases . Since it was founded in 2001, Horn has been a permanent member of the federal-state project group for the development of quality standards for case analyzes.

In 2006 Horn prepared an operational case analysis for the BAO Bosporus , which had been formed to investigate the Ceska and NSU series of murders of migrants, and was the first to point out a possible right-wing or right-wing extremist background of the perpetrators. However, this analysis encountered contradictions and initially did not lead to any tangible results. It was only confirmed in November 2011 with the discovery of the right-wing extremist terrorist organization National Socialist Underground (NSU), which was responsible for the series of murders . His case analyzes also served to clarify the crime committed against Mareike G. from Waldmünchen . Horn was also instrumental in clearing up the murder and abuse series of the "masked man" Martin Ney in April 2011. With his investigations into Ney and other events, he served as a case analyst in the documentary series Unexplained Murder moderated by Udo Nagel on RTL 2.

From the 67th episode, Lisa Wagner starred as case analyst Christine Lerch for five episodes at the Munich Tatort with the inspectors Batic and Leitmayr , whose role was modeled on Horn. Horn also provides specialist advice to the Munich crime scene series.
