Alexander Ruuttu (born December 9, 1992 in Chicago , Illinois , USA ) is a Finnish ice hockey player who has been under contract with KalPa in the Liiga since April 2016 . His father Christian was also a hockey player.

Career

Alexander Ruuttu was born in Chicago , USA , while his father was under contract with the Chicago Blackhawks . He began his career as a hockey player in Finland in the youth department of HIFK Helsinki . From there he later moved to the city neighbor Jokerit Helsinki , for whose professional team he made his debut in the SM-liiga in the 2010/11 season . In his only mission he remained unpunished and punished. In addition, he was in two games as a loaner for the Finnish U20 national team in the Mestis , the second Finnish division, on the ice, where he each scored a goal and an assist. Following the season he was selected first in the KHL Junior Draft in the third round as the 68th player from Dinamo Riga and finally in the NHL Entry Draft in the second round as the 51st player from the Phoenix Coyotes .

During the 2012/12 and 2012/13 seasons he was used on loan at Kiekko-Vantaa in the Mestis before he was signed by Ilves Tampere in January 2013 . At Ilves he did not get beyond the role of a supplementary player and was therefore initially used at LeKi in the Mestis during the 2014/15 season . In January 2015 it was handed over to TPS Turku .
