Alexander Count of Török

Alexander Graf von Torok Szendrő (* 14. February 1809 in Vienna , † 24. February 1868 in Nagykázmér ) was a kk real chamberlain and Major General and Field Marshal Lieutenant .

Origin and family

The later field marshal lieutenant came from an old, Hungarian, Catholic family, who was raised to the rank of imperial count by Emperor Joseph II on December 28, 1774 . His father Joseph († July 10, 1830) was, among other things, Imperial Chamberlain and Privy Councilor and Chief Count of Sathmar County . From his marriage to Marta Freiin von Vecsey-Haynatskeö (born February 15, 1778) he had four sons and a daughter.

The head of the family was Alexander's eldest brother Valentin Török von Szendrő (born April 18, 1806), president of the Septemviral table, the highest court of justice in the country and married to the star-crossed lady Sophie Freiin Revay and Réva zu Szklabina and Blatnicza since May 13, 1833 . The second, Johann Nepomuk Török von Szendrő (born May 10, 1810) married Pauline, nee Countess Sztáray, in 1832. Alexander's youngest brother was the field marshal lieutenant ad honores (March 1, 1884) Nikolaus Kasimir Török von Szendrő (born February 29, 1812 - June 6, 1884) married to the actress Johanna Buska . Alexander remained single.

The great-nephew of the same name was the last ambassador of the former Austria-Hungary to Germany from March 1 to May 1, 1919 and was primarily concerned with liquidating the authority.
