The Karakoisu ( Russian Каракойсу ) is a right tributary of the Avarskoje Koisu in the Russian Republic of Dagestan .
The Karakoisu has its source in the eastern part of the Greater Caucasus in the south of Dagestan in the Charoda Rajon . It flows mainly in a northerly direction through the mountains. It is dammed at two dams. In the administrative center of Gergebil , the Kasikumuchskoje Koisu meets the river from the right. Then it turns to the northwest and reaches the Avarskoye Koisu 10 km downstream.
The Karakoisu has a length of 97 km. Its catchment area covers 3720 km². The mean discharge at the mouth is 31.6 m³ / s.
