Alexander Wassiljewitsch Chatunzew ( Russian Александр Васильевич Хатунцев ; born February 11, 1985 in Voronezh ) is a former Russian cyclist .

Athletic career

Alexander Chatunzew became the junior world champion in team pursuit on the track in 2002 . A year later he became world and European junior champion in single pursuit and vice-European champion in team pursuit. In 2004 he won the Tour of South China Sea on the road . The following year he secured the final classification of the Grand Prix of Sochi on the road . 2006 Chatunzew had his most successful year until then, when he was among other things Russian road champion, won bronze in the road race of the U23 at the road world championships and won the overall standings of the Tour of South China Sea. In 2008 he won the Settimana Ciclistica Lombarda team time trial with the Tinkoff team . In 2009 he won a stage of the Five Rings of Moscow and the Grand Prix of Moscow . In 2012 he ended his cycling career.
